Before the white man set his sights upon this pristine land,
Before his foot touched the soil or boat keel touched the sand,
Before he climbed to mountain top or strolled the meadows wide,
The American Indian lived in this land, with nature, side by side.
The Indian, in his own beliefs, was born of wind and sun.
